Pirlo Plays Match With Glass Of Wine In Hand

                                                                                                                                                    Andrea Pirlo has been criticised for playing the second half of New York City’s game against Orlando with a glass of wine in his hand. Despite setting up two goals, the controversy has invited fresh accusations that the Italian legend is coasting stateside.

Disappointed

“I think Andrea will be disappointed when he watches the footage,” MLS spokesman David Beckham told Soccer on Sunday. “He’s played well, but he’s maybe stepped out of one or two tackles to avoid spilling his drink. Fans never like seeing that.”

The former Juventus midfielder was jeered by the home support on the hour, when he appeared to slow a run so that an official could top-up his glass.

“The top-up was excessive,” added Beckham. “Swirling it, smelling it. He’s through on goal if he skips all that.”

Allen

Joe Allen has accused the Italian of disrespect.

“I’m the Welsh Pirlo,” the Stoke City midfielder told Soccer on Sunday. “So a stunt like this reflects poorly on both of us. I’m also the Welsh Xavi, but the Spanish me is a class act. It’s being the Welsh Pirlo and the Welsh Rihanna that causes me no end of stress.”

“Of course, they have the responsibility of being the Italian and Barbadian Joe Allens,” added the Welsh Rihanna, Pirlo & Xavi. “So it cuts both ways.”

Boos

Pirlo was withdrawn in the 81st minute to a chorus of boos, and tossed his cheese board at the home dugout in disgust.

“It’s not like I was slaughtering a bottle of Blue fucking Nun,” the Italian told Soccer on Sunday. “We’re talking a 67 Merlot here. Pirlo with a Merlot. These yankee shitebags never had it so good.”
